Potential Patrol dogs
We use German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, rotwiller, doberman and Dutch Shepherds form proven working lines for our patrol dogs. These dogs exhibit steady/sure behavior under gunfire, strong aggression in response to threat form a decoy dressed "in civil" (not wearing any obvious bite equipment), pronounced interest in biting and holding decoys wearing bite sleeves, a strong and full bite, and steadiness under threats while biting.
Environmental conditioned
All our dogs are desensitized and bold in response to environmental stimuli such as interiors of building, slick surfaces, elevated surfaces, stairs, noisy objects, crowds of people, and other stressors/distracters. Even under unfamiliar stressful situations they behave confidently and fearlessly. Our dogs maintain a good temperament and discipline under stress.
Gun-sure
All our dogs are desensitized and remain calm, inquisitive, and steady/sure and move about freely under gunfire.
Behaviour and traits
In general our potential patrol dogs display the following behavior and traits:-
1) Eagerly pursue and bite the decoy.
2) They pull towards, bark at, threaten or attempt to bite a threatening decoy dressed "in civil"
3) They are fearless and have confrontational behavior when approached in a menacing manner
4) They have a powerful, deep, strong and steady bite.
5) Committed on holding onto a bite even when under threat from a decoy.
6) Aptitude to re-attract, or transfer interest and attention from the bite sleeve and stay focused on the decoy after the sleeve is dropped.
7) Confrontational, fearless and have controlled aggression under gunfire.
8) Behave calmly towards and do not bite at the handler.
9) Friendly behavior towards other dogs.
Muzzle and Crate Training: - All our dogs accept a muzzle and being placed in and removed from a dog crate. While in a muzzle or in a crate they always maintain a calm temperament.
Pre-trained Patrol dogs
All pre-trained Patrol dogs have all the qualities of "Potential Patrol dogs"
Pre-trained Patrol dogs have an advanced level of training in Obedience, agility, controlled aggression, building search and steadiness under gunfire.
In general our pre-trained patrol dogs display the following behavior and traits:-
1) They are able to perform obedience tasks like ("sit", "down", "stay", "recall to heel", "walk at heel" etc)
2) They are put through the toughest agility courses and can go through (Dog walks, stairs/steps, a-frame, window hurdle, smoke screen other types of hurdles, tunnel, and 3 barrels, or similar obstacles)
3) They are taught to remain steady at heel and will pursue on command only.
4) The dog is taught to pursue and attack running decoys. They have a solid bite and are committed to holding on to it until the handler gives the command to "out". These dogs are trained to guard the decoy intently until they are recovered by their handlers.
5) Our dogs are taught to stand-off on command while in pursuit. The dogs go in a "sit" "stand" or "down position" from which they guard the decoy intently, until they are recovered by the handler.
6) The dogs are taught to escort decoys at a distance of 10-15 feet.
7) Our Patrol dogs are trained to attack decoys, even if the decoy attacks the handler quietly. The attack is a solid bite, which the dog does not let go until commanded by the handler. The dog then guards the decoy intently until recovered by the handler.
8) The dogs are trained to locate the decoys by scent in a building. They indicate the decoys position by a scratch, bite, bark, jump or stop and stare. The dog then guards the decoy intently until recovered by the handler.
9) Gunfire proof: - Our dogs are desensitized and remain calm, inquisitive, steady/sure and always remain at the handler’s side under gunfire.
